What are teeth-whitening treatments?
At Chelmer Village Dental we offer a number of home-based and in-practice teeth-whitening treatment options.
Treatments such as Enlighten’s Evolution® consist of using custom-made trays worn over your teeth overnight for a period of 2 weeks. This is followed by a practice-based whitening appointment where you will leave with a whiter and brighter smile.
A home-based teeth-whitening treatment, such as Pola® Whitening, is a convenient and effective way to whiten teeth at home. Bleaching gel is placed inside close-fitting dental trays worn over your teeth from between 15 minutes a day to overnight. Results can be visible in 5 to 14 days.
How long do the effects of whitening last?
The effects of teeth-whitening can last several months. The effectiveness and duration depend on your individual teeth. Drinking tea, coffee and red wine, eating coloured food and smoking also affects the duration of teeth-whitening.
During your consultation, your dentist will advise you on the teeth-whitening treatment option that is right for you. You must be over 18, with healthy teeth and gums, to benefit from a whitening treatment which should only be prescribed and be carried out by your dentist.
