Dr John Ballentyne LDS RCS (Eng)
John qualified in 1969 from the renowned dental school in Guy’s Hospital, London. John has been practicing for over 40 years and established Chelmer Village Dental in 1990. Being one of the most experienced dentists in the UK, John has a wealth of experience in both traditional and cosmetic dentistry. John’s main area of interest is dental implants. After his post graduate training at Sheffield University in 1998 in dental implants he has fitted more than a thousand implants. On the cosmetic side, John has helped many patients achieve the perfect smile through an assortment of modern technologies and treatments; including traditional restorative dentistry, dental implants, crowns, bridges, tooth whitening, porcelain veneers, Cerinate Lumineers, etc. He is fully trained and experienced using the latest in porcelain veneer technology, Cerinate Lumineers, and, according to Cerinate has fitted more Lumineers in the UK than any other dentist. Cerinate Lumineers became popular off the back of the hit US series “Extreme Makeover”, and have subsequently been popular with a number of Hollywood actors and celebrities – thus creating the term “Hollywood Smile”. Joe trained and qualified at Bristol University. After gaining extensive experience in both NHS and Private dentistry in a practice in Devon, Joe joined Chelmer Village Dental in 2008. Besides being a universally liked NHS dentist, Joe offers a full range of private options including Cerinate Lumineers, Dental Implants, and Tooth Whitening. Joe has been on training courses for Cerinate Lumineers and across many areas of dentistry to update his skills to keep up with a very dynamic profession. In his spare time Joe enjoys cooking and travelling and of course is an avid Manchester United fan!

Dr Mark Glennie BDS (Lond)
Mark Glennie qualified from the Royal London Hospital in 1983. He has worked in Norfolk and East London before starting at Chelmer Village Dental in 2007. He has kept abreast of changes in dentistry from veneers in the mid 1980’s to Implantology at present. Outside of work interests include music, reading and an unhealthy obsession with Celtic and West Ham United football clubs.
